In three consolidated workers' compensation cases, the Appeals Board denied Girgis & Associates' petitions to set aside sanctions imposed by the Workers' Compensation Judge. The sanctions were issued because Girgis filed Declarations of Readiness to Proceed, causing lien conferences to be scheduled, and then withdrew them without providing a valid reason, failing to comply with notice requirements. Although the petitions were initially late, they were deemed timely due to Girgis's credible claim of late actual notice. However, the Board found the petitions lacked merit as they did not address the underlying basis for the sanctions.
