Curry v. Travelers Insurance Co.
Alice Nelson Curry appealed a judgment in a workmen’s compensation case against Travelers Insurance Company and Jensens, Inc. Her husband, Buford Curry, suffered a fatal myocardial infarction at work. The appeal contested the trial court's consideration of a misquoted medical statement and its conclusion that no causal connection existed between Mr. Curry’s work and his heart attack. The Supreme Court affirmed the trial court's judgment, finding the misquotation a minor error and upholding the finding on causation due to conflicting medical evidence and the application of the material evidence rule.
